Is it free to use?

Yes. Signing up, browsing, contacting landlords, listing a property and opening a marketplace store are all free. We earn from optional listing boosts, a service fee on shortlet stays and escrow jobs, and a 5% fee when a marketplace sale completes.

Do I need an account to browse?

No. You can search homes, artisans and the marketplace as a guest. You only need an account to save items, send messages, book, hire or buy.

How do I create an account?

Tap Sign up, enter your name, email and a password, or continue with Google (or Apple on iPhone). On sign-up you can say whether you want to rent and hire, list your own property, or list as an agent.

I rent today but want to list a property. Do I need a new account?

No. Go to List Property on the website (or Account → List your property in the app) and choose “I own property” or “I’m an agent”. Your account is upgraded instantly and you keep everything else.

I forgot my password

On the sign-in page choose “Forgot password” and enter your email. We’ll send a reset link within a few minutes — check your spam folder if it doesn’t arrive.

Why was I signed out?

For your security, sessions expire after a period of inactivity. You can keep browsing as a guest and sign in again when you need your account.

How do I delete my account?

In the OgaLanLord app go to Account → Delete account. You can also email support@ogalanlord.com from your registered address. Your personal details are erased and your listings, artisan profile and store are taken down. Orders, jobs or stays that are still in progress must be completed or cancelled first.

Is there an OgaLanLord app?

Yes — the Android app is on Google Play and an iPhone version is on the way. The app has everything on the website: homes, artisans, the marketplace, messages, bookings and your landlord or seller tools.

Can I use the same account on the app and the website?

Yes. Sign in with the same email (or Google/Apple) and your saved homes, bookings, jobs, orders and messages are all there.

Why can’t I buy digital downloads or seller plans on iPhone?

Apple requires its own in-app purchase system for digital goods and subscriptions, so the iPhone app doesn’t sell them. You can buy them on the website or the Android app. Physical items, services, shortlet stays and artisan jobs are unaffected.

How do I search for a property?

Choose Rent, Buy or Shortlet, then filter by state, city, property type, bedrooms and price. You can also search by a keyword such as an area name (for example “Lekki”), or switch to the map to explore an area.

What does “Verified” mean on a listing?

Every listing is checked before it goes live: our team calls the owner or agent to confirm the property exists, the details are accurate and they have the right to list it. If something looks wrong, report it from the listing page.

How do I contact a landlord or agent?

Use Message on the listing to chat inside OgaLanLord — the owner is notified straight away. Where the owner has chosen to show it, you can also call, or send them an SMS from the listing page.

Can I save homes for later?

Yes. Tap the heart on any listing. Your saved homes appear in your dashboard (and under Account → Saved in the app).

Should I ever pay an inspection fee?

Never pay anyone to view a property found on OgaLanLord, and never send rent or a deposit before you have inspected the home and verified the documents. Report anyone who asks.

How do I book a viewing?

On rentals and sales where the landlord has set viewing times, pick a slot under “Book a viewing”, add your phone number and an optional message, and send the request. The landlord confirms it and you’ll be notified.

Where do I see my viewings?

In Bookings & Viewings → My Viewings on the website, or Account → Bookings → Viewings in the app. You can cancel from there if your plans change.

Why can’t I book another viewing for the same home?

You can only have one pending viewing request per property. Wait for the landlord to respond, or cancel your existing request and pick a new time.

There are no viewing times on a listing

How do I book a shortlet?

Choose your check-in and check-out dates on the listing. We check availability and show the price per night × nights plus a 5% service fee. Pay securely with Paystack to send your request to the host, who then confirms your stay.

When am I charged?

When you send the request. Your booking shows “Awaiting payment” until payment goes through, and hosts can only confirm stays that have been paid for. If you closed the payment page early, open Bookings & Viewings and use the Pay button.

I paid but my booking still says “Awaiting payment”

Payments usually reflect within a minute. Refresh your bookings page. If it still hasn’t updated after 15 minutes, contact support with the date and amount and we’ll reconcile it.

Can I cancel a shortlet stay?

Yes, from your bookings page. Refunds of the stay amount depend on how close you are to check-in: 72 hours or more before — full refund; between 24 and 72 hours — 50%; under 24 hours — no refund. Our team processes refunds to your original payment method.

You’ll be notified and the booking is cancelled. Contact support if you’ve paid and we’ll make sure your money is returned.

Go to List Property and follow the steps: what you’re listing (rent, sale or shortlet) and the price; the location; rooms and description; amenities and extra features; then photos and videos. Submit it for review when you’re happy.

A booking is a free scheduling request — you agree payment directly with the artisan. A job is escrow-protected: you fund it upfront, the money is held by OgaLanLord, and the artisan is paid only when you approve the work.

You fund the job and the money is held securely. The artisan does the work and submits proof. You approve it to release payment, or raise a dispute if something is wrong.

Open My Orders, choose the order and “Report a problem” before it completes. The seller has 3 business days to respond; if you can’t agree, our team decides. Approved claims are refunded in full to your original payment method.

To keep buyers safe, no listing goes live until OgaLanLord has verified the store. Submit a valid ID (NIN, driver’s licence, international passport or voter’s card) under Seller Center → Verification. Reviews usually take under 24 hours, and you can prepare listings as drafts meanwhile.

Listing is free. A 5% final value fee applies to the order total when a sale completes. Paid seller plans add more active listings and featured placements; the fee is the same on every plan.

No. Payments made through OgaLanLord are protected by escrow or our booking rules. Money sent directly to someone’s bank account can’t be recovered by us.
